Fun 1/2 Cut

Snowman

snowmanThe really fun triple circle z fold cards have gotten me thinking of other fun cuts to do on cards.  Here is a 1/2 cut done on the bottom of this card.  The inside is only 5″ and I would have liked it to be 5.5″ but needed 13″ of  continues paper and since there is only 12×12 paper, I just could not get it any bigger.  This is a new size for our little snowman.

Stamps Used:  HH26 Hearts Border, G327 Brr! Baby, it’s cold outside!, DD59 Sending Fund Cube, DD63 1″ Dots & Circles, EE42 KB’s Heart Snowman Looking Up, EE41 Dots & Lines

Our new fun cubes have been really popular…the sending fun cube used on this card is very versatile!

DD59Four little stamps that fit inside 1″ circles.  We have two new ones that I hope to get on the internet sometime today or tomorrow. A Coffee Fun Cube and a Halloween Fun Cube.  Off to set up for the Colorado Show.  Enjoy today!

Arrival in Denver!

Coffee

Stamps Used:  G316 KB’s Capp Cup Lg; DD64 Coffee Fun Cube; HH26 Hearts Border; DD63 1″ Circle and Dots

We’ve arrived in Denver CO for the Scrapbook Expo Show on Friday and Saturday.  We had smooth sailing except for the awful internet at the hotel last night.  As we came down I-76 we saw the devastating flooding in Sterling CO.  We stopped for gas and there was only one station open, all restaurants were closed due to the flooding and no bathrooms.  All of Sterling CO was on a no flush ordinance.  Our hearts go out to all those affected by the flooding.

So just a side note….Kevin thinks I’ve gotten a little carried away with the spray paint…this is my latest project…
hoseSo here is my brown hose!  and yes I spray painted it!!  Doesn’t it look so much better than green?  I’m not sure if you can buy brown hoses or not but why buy another hose when you can spray paint!  Right!??

Kevin had the hose going across my patio and I asked him to make it longer and move it around the side of the house and then under the deck.  It was way better than across the deck but I didn’t like the green.  I think it looks much better brown!  It was a bear to paint!!  But I love how it looks.

I’m really loving the fun cubes…so little and cute and useful!

We actually got some projects done on Saturday…Here’s a picture of my sister in law fixing my seat cushions …

chairsYou can see the green wrought iron table and the old cushion covers on the ground.  They were so faded and ugly…but then we put the awesome new covers on and the green didn’t match…so out came the spray paint!  Looks so nice now.

Kevin and I often eat lunch or supper at this little table when it’s nice out!  Well I’d better get to work already having printer problems so I think it’s going to be a rough day!

Update to fox coasters

Coffee, Creatures

Happy Friday everyone! Today I have some updates on the fox coasters and a coffee card. creature coasters

I added another creature to my coasters! I also added a thin fleece layer to the bottom of the coasters to protect surfaces from the wood. Thank you to all who had suggestions for a sealant! These are the 2 I found at Home Depot: a clear gloss and a triple thick glaze. This morning I decided to test them each.

rust-oleum

And this was the result. The glaze made the ink bleed on the fox but I wonder if it is because I sprayed too much on. When I tested the clear glaze I was much more conservative and I think it worked better. Might need to put 2 layers on though.

coffee

I have also been saving my coffee from the morning and making iced coffee with it. Refilled Starbucks frappuccino chilled coffee drink containers with leftover coffee, fresh cream and whole milk. Much cheaper than going to Caribou every day! I also want to put chalkboard paint around the bottles to be able to write on the outside. Will try to post those photos later!

Have a great weekend!

Fishing

Birthday

fishingGood Evening!  After a relaxing Labor Day I was looking at some of my friends on facebook who were posting fishing pictures and I thought of this card!  Karissa made it for her Dad for his birthday.

Stamps Used:  CC27 Dots & Circles 7/8″; B243 KB’s Fishing Pole; B117 Happy Birthday

So we have been busy making stamps since we added the Colorado show.  We are also enjoying having my sister in law stay with us.  She will be here for about a week and a half…she’s been helping filing and doing all sorts of things!

We have some new stamps coming…a Halloween Fun Cube and a Coffee Fun cube…a new Cappuccino cup…tiny one for the Triple Circle Z Fold Cards… and an old snowman in a new size.  We should have for the Colorado show.

I’m so excited about an ebay find!  I was at TJ Maxx the other day and found some Keen orange shoes that were adorable but of course not my size.  So I started searching ebay….did you know that there are one thousand six hundred and seventy -two  women’s Keen shoes in size 7 for sale on ebay?? seriously..  So after searching some 700+ and bidding on four pair of shoes…I finally found the shoes I was looking for!

orange shoes

They came in the mail today!  so adorable…they look even cuter in real life.  Yes, they are ORANGE!  I have no idea when or with what I can wear these but my new favorite color is orange. And luckily I lost all the other bids on the shoes so I didn’t end up with five new pairs of shoes! 🙂

See you tomorrow!

Owl Coaster

Uncategorized

coasters 2So I know that I’ve already posted the fox coaster and was wishing I had a single picture of the owl coaster but apparently not!  Can’t even take credit for them because Karissa has been making them.  Apparently she just got a branch that fell during a storm and cut it thin and is making them that way!  Sometimes the storms that knock all the branches down can be a good thing!  We are looking for a way to seal them…any ideas from anybody???
