Tis the Season

tis the season

Ok I admit it.  I love snowmen!  I have trouble staying away from them.  I had a little piece of yesterday’s background paper left over so I thought I should use it up!  I used denim distress ink for the background and for the snowdrift.  And I have to admit I did use a die for the snowdrift.  I know I could probably cut one but I just like how they look.  I also used the distress ink on the ribbon so that it all matches.

Stamps Used:  FF36 KB’s Heart Snowman Looking Up/Lg; EE42 KB’s Heart Snowman Looking Up/Med.; C171 KB’s Snowflake; C219 Tis the Season

this is the die I used.  We have been carrying this brand in our booth.  We are working on our own dies…hopefully by next year.

So I thought I would just give you guys a little insight to our stamping making process.  We have 170 different stamps to make for the next show.  So we begin with a process we call “pulling”  Each stamp has a file folder with a ticket it that tells us what plate it is on, what size wood it requires, what size bag it goes in and then labels.  So we have to “pull” all the tickets and put them in little buckets.  It probably took us a good 8 hours to get them all pulled.  well,  that is really the second step.  The first step is just determining and putting together the order of stamps that we need.

pullingso here is our “bucket”  to be continued 🙂

Snow Happens!

Snowman

photo 2so this weekend while we were in Mandan, ND we had 1.5″ of snow and it was a mess but beautiful large snowflakes.  So this week I have a couple snowman cards and then Karissa has made a few halloween cards which will follow.  If you notice I used the AA10 and AA15 dots in the background.  I often use them in middle of flowers and different ways they  are just a simple addition to cards.

Well, we are still in Fargo, ND and have many hours to travel today so that we can have a couple days in our own bed and then off again for the York, PA show.

Oops!

snowman2mntOk so I goofed!  I meant to do this card yesterday and yesterday’s card today!  Sometimes I just do not have it all together 🙂  I love this embossing folder from Darice.  I used it on the front of the card too but only a section of it.  This is how the folder looks.

We have arrived in Bismarck, ND for our mini vacation.  Kevin lived in this area until he was in sixth grade and so we are on a grand adventure.  Hard to imagine that we travel for a living and traveling for a grand adventure but such is life.  We traveled to Elk River, MN yesterday and stayed at my folks for “bed and breakfast!” and then off to Bismarck today.

Have a great hump day!  We are half way to the weekend!

Thank You Denver!

snowman1Here is the inside to my card from last week!  I’m liking fun folds.

We are still traveling home from Denver, CO.  Had an awesome time in Denver.  Saw some old friends, Sandy, Joanne, Tina and company!  Met some new ones…met a young girl named Sarah who was the sweetest little girl.  I really would have like to take her home!  Me, who’s happy with my empty nest.  I took a picture of Sarah because she was so cute and polite but my email not working so great this am so I’ll try and post it in the morning.

We should be home sometime this afternoon and then Pam and Monty from Morning Star are coming for a little visit.  Pam and I are going to spend tomorrow stamping so hopefully I will have a few new Make n Takes to add.  Hope your Monday’s a good one!

Fun 1/2 Cut

Snowman

snowmanThe really fun triple circle z fold cards have gotten me thinking of other fun cuts to do on cards.  Here is a 1/2 cut done on the bottom of this card.  The inside is only 5″ and I would have liked it to be 5.5″ but needed 13″ of  continues paper and since there is only 12×12 paper, I just could not get it any bigger.  This is a new size for our little snowman.

Stamps Used:  HH26 Hearts Border, G327 Brr! Baby, it’s cold outside!, DD59 Sending Fund Cube, DD63 1″ Dots & Circles, EE42 KB’s Heart Snowman Looking Up, EE41 Dots & Lines

Our new fun cubes have been really popular…the sending fun cube used on this card is very versatile!

DD59Four little stamps that fit inside 1″ circles.  We have two new ones that I hope to get on the internet sometime today or tomorrow. A Coffee Fun Cube and a Halloween Fun Cube.  Off to set up for the Colorado Show.  Enjoy today!

Think Snow!

Snowman

bookish gradIt’s an absolute perfect day here in WI!  The weather is around 64 degrees- warm but cool.  The temperature in the studio is perfect!  Should get lots done today which is a good thing since I have lots to do.  Travis is almost done vulcanizing for the Novi, MI show so then begins the task of making and packaging the stamps!  Not my favorite thing! 🙂  Too tedious for me but it has to be done 🙂

The house is clean (for those of you just following…I clean the house every Wednesday if possible)  I really wanted to skip it this morning but knew it would just make next week harder.  By cleaning every week it just keep things neater and less stressful for me. So I got up early and got it done.  Karissa is coming home tonight for the weekend…not that we’ll see her much she has all kinds of plans.

You may have notice a couple of new links to the right…we have been uploading cataloged images.  Check them out.

New Stamps!

Snowman

snow happensHello Everyone!

Getting a slow start to my day this morning…long drive home from Bloomington, MN last night!

We had an awesome time in MN.  Saw some old friends and met some new friends.  A great show!  The best selling stamp was this little DD60 stamp

DD60that we used here on this card.  It works with the 1.25″ scallop circle but is first punched with a 1″ circle punch.  All of our new fun cubes were designed to fit inside of these stamps.  All were designed to fit on the triple circle Z fold cards from The Paper Cut.  This will be one of our new Make n Takes starting in Novi, MI.

We have a extremely busy schedule ahead of us.  We begin the month of August with Novi, Mi…then Stampaway in Cincinnati,  OH…then on to Collinsville, IL and we just got a call from Scrapbook Expo for the St. Charles show the very next weekend!  Whew!  maybe I’ll be so busy I won’t have time to eat and I’ll lose some weight!  One can always hope! right!

Better get downstairs and help Travis with making stamps.  Have a super Monday.

Beth

still snowing…

EC-card

This card is perfect considering the snow storm we had here in MN. It was a spring blizzard. This is a really easy card to make. I used copic markers to color in the snowmen and bird. The snowflake I inked once and stamped 3 times before re-inking. Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully this will be the last snowy card we see/make for awhile. Another dimension could always be added by 3D dotting one of the snowmen. Have a great weekend and hope to see some of you at the Allentown convention!

Snow? Again?

Snowman

snowmanHello!  It is again a beautiful day in PA!  Expecting 80 degree weather again…Our children are not so lucky.  Karissa woke up to snow and Minneapolis is expecting 12 inches or so again today!  Travis has ice and snow in Green Bay and the electricity went out earlier this morning and not back on yet.  Glad to be in PA!

In light of all the snow posting a snowman card.  So sorry it is a little blurry!  Enjoy your day where ever you happen to be!

Snowman, Winter

Be Merry RedThis was a very popular card at the Grapevine, TX show.  We ran out of the embossing folders but had a new shipment in of them for the Mesquite, TX show.  We are getting all ready for that show this weekend.  It will be held at the Mesquite Convention Center (by the Hampton Hotel) right off he freeway.  Their website is http://www.scrapstamparttour.com for more information and to purchase tickets.  It’s going to be 72 degrees today!  Love that!  It is only 10 degrees in Green Bay.
