Turkey Cup

turkey cupthis was one of our make n takes this last weekend.  a turkey cup!  love the big eyes.

We had a very big day today.  Kevin’s Mom usually has a project or two for us to do while we are in Yuma.  She didn’t really have any thing for us to do but on Monday she was in her fridge grumbling about how much she wanted a new one and how much she dislikes the current one…so we got up this morning and went fridge shopping.  Very complicated when you have a small space to work in, so the cabinets above the fridge were taken out, new ones purchased and now the new fridge fits.  whew!  I’m ready for bed 🙂

It’s Friday!

Coffee

photo 4We could use some coffee this morning!  It’s a cold one…they are expecting snow here.  Kevin’s all excited, my brother who spent most of last year overseas is excited, Kevin’s sister Tamara who is from CA and doesn’t see much snow is excited…I think I’m the only one not excited!

I like the chevron border.  It can take the place of ribbon and balance out a card.  Have a great weekend!

Thursday AM

Coffee

photo 1Here’s a little 4 oz coffee cup decorated up for a gift!  How cute to put a starbucks gift card in this!?  I was just thinking we could cut a slit in the top and do something cute with it.  I’ll have to try that when I get back home.

We are in Bismarck, ND where snow is being predicted?!! gasp!  not ready for snow but I do have a winter coat and boats so I guess I am ready!  We are attending a church convention with my brother and sister in law so very special.

Enjoy your day, I know that I’ll enjoy my day! 🙂

Having Fun

Coffee

SarahSo this is Sarah my little friend from Denver CO! So Cute!

Pam and I have been having fun…well Pam more than me…I have had to do some work so I think I stamped one card and now it’s time for supper so…there goes that!

I made another coffee card today.  Which I have to mention that nobody told me that I did the same card twice in the last couple of weeks 🙂  I think I was a little tired last week.  A vacation will do that to you!  The little coffee fun cube sold very well in Denver and it is a ton of fun.  We ran into someone in Denver doing Make n Takes with 4 oz coffee cups and they were absolutely adorable!  and yes I hope to have them in York, PA which is our next show.  I ordered the coffee cups and they have shipped already so I’ll try to show them to you all when I get a chance.

Arrival in Denver!

Coffee

whole latteHere’s another coffee card with the Coffee Fun Cube!

Stamps Used:  G316 KB’s Capp Cup Lg; DD64 Coffee Fun Cube; HH26 Hearts Border; DD63 1″ Circle and Dots

We’ve arrived in Denver CO for the Scrapbook Expo Show on Friday and Saturday.  We had smooth sailing except for the awful internet at the hotel last night.  As we came down I-76 we saw the devastating flooding in Sterling CO.  We stopped for gas and there was only one station open, all restaurants were closed due to the flooding and no bathrooms.  All of Sterling CO was on a no flush ordinance.  Our hearts go out to all those affected by the flooding.

So just a side note….Kevin thinks I’ve gotten a little carried away with the spray paint…this is my latest project…
hoseSo here is my brown hose!  and yes I spray painted it!!  Doesn’t it look so much better than green?  I’m not sure if you can buy brown hoses or not but why buy another hose when you can spray paint!  Right!??

Kevin had the hose going across my patio and I asked him to make it longer and move it around the side of the house and then under the deck.  It was way better than across the deck but I didn’t like the green.  I think it looks much better brown!  It was a bear to paint!!  But I love how it looks.

I’m really loving the fun cubes…so little and cute and useful!

We actually got some projects done on Saturday…Here’s a picture of my sister in law fixing my seat cushions …

chairsYou can see the green wrought iron table and the old cushion covers on the ground.  They were so faded and ugly…but then we put the awesome new covers on and the green didn’t match…so out came the spray paint!  Looks so nice now.

Kevin and I often eat lunch or supper at this little table when it’s nice out!  Well I’d better get to work already having printer problems so I think it’s going to be a rough day!

Update to fox coasters

Coffee, Creatures

Happy Friday everyone! Today I have some updates on the fox coasters and a coffee card. creature coasters

I added another creature to my coasters! I also added a thin fleece layer to the bottom of the coasters to protect surfaces from the wood. Thank you to all who had suggestions for a sealant! These are the 2 I found at Home Depot: a clear gloss and a triple thick glaze. This morning I decided to test them each.

rust-oleum

And this was the result. The glaze made the ink bleed on the fox but I wonder if it is because I sprayed too much on. When I tested the clear glaze I was much more conservative and I think it worked better. Might need to put 2 layers on though.

I have also been saving my coffee from the morning and making iced coffee with it. Refilled Starbucks frappuccino chilled coffee drink containers with leftover coffee, fresh cream and whole milk. Much cheaper than going to Caribou every day! I also want to put chalkboard paint around the bottles to be able to write on the outside. Will try to post those photos later!

Have a great weekend!

Cup of Love

Coffee

cup of loveGood Evening!  We have our booth all set up…just a 10×20 booth so a little complicated to set up since we are used to 10×30 but glad we finally got in an Scrapbook Expo Show.  It will be a tight squeeze but we are ready.

I love this card by Michelle ( she has an awesome blog that I’ll have to have Karissa put a link from our blog to hers since I’m technically challenged!)  I love the different colors of coffee cups.  She puts so much work and detail into her cards.
Have a great weekend!  I’ll be back on Monday.  We will finally get a break from back to back shows and I really need it 🙂

coffee2 4So another card from Karissa!  She has saved me this week with all the cards she made when she was home.  You can always tell her cards because I think she uses the little A190 Heart on everything!  It does add just that little bit extra.  I like it for when I accidently get a smudge or spot on my card then I cover it up with the little heart!

Lots to do today so I’m off and running!
