I have been having a good time stamping since my mobility is decreased due to the belly incision not healing right. I think it’s getting better but hard to tell! I start back to work 4 hours a day today – that’s probably all my brain can take. Looking forward to getting some kind of routines going again. This card is so elegant in real life- pictures don’t tell the whole story. Happy Monday!

Card Layout Continues

So I did take Kevin’s advice yesterday and didn’t “over due it” and stamped pretty much all day! I love this layout! I started with several sheets of 8.5×12 card stock and cut at 5.5” on the 11 inch side; then cut two pieces 4×5.25” and 3.75×5”. I discovered that you can’t score the paper under the circles to just cover the circles to save paper. You have to use a full 3.75×5 piece. Well, I guess you don’t have to but if you want your card to look good you need to! What I like about cutting several cards is then I can just make cards and not have to get up and cut every time. I did take two circle die cuts and cut out of the 4×5.35” paper- they did go on random – in other words I didn’t measure to get them in an exact spot. I scored the 3.75×5 all the way across- again it makes the cards even across.

Normally I would not tape these pieces together and stamp but because of the curl on the scored paper and I wanted a photo- I had to.

Will let this be all for now- but more to come!

Happy Saturday!

Flipped Layout

Cutting Dies w/ matching stamp, flowers

Good Morning!

I wanted to flip the layout on the cards that I’ve been doing. My sister also suggested I make a frame around the square. So I did both!

I did also sprinkle some gold sparkle on it too. Again I left the square empty since I’m not sure what kind of card it will be- more than likely Sympathy.

I think I’ll go do some more stamping! I have 3 inches of my belly incision that has “wound delayed healing” which actually means a painful belly🤪 I was planning to clean bathrooms today but when Kevin left he said “don’t over due it today” so stamping it is!

More Sympathy

alcohol ink, Cutting Dies w/ matching stamp, flowers, Uncategorized, With Sympathy

I got started making sympathy cards and couldn’t stop. I also want to try this same card layout but change it up a bit today – we’ll see how the time goes. I’ve got a doctors appt so that kills a lot of the day.

I did stack these die cuts. One of my favorite things to do rather than use 3-d-dots. I just cut two extra layers and glue together. Love the look and feel! Stamp links: GG47 Hollyhocks; CC31 KB’s Bees; C331 Heartfelt Sympathy Sm;

Here are some directions for the layer: The layer (4×5.25”) card stock is usually the same color as the base card. score as below.

I do score twice. I score, then take a 1.5” square cutting die, and line up.

Cut out and then re-score since they get smashed in the Die Cutting machine . You could cut first and then score but I like the visual of knowing where the scores are. My score tool is just holding the paper down for picture.

Other Options!

I decided to leave this blank and stamp when I know what kind of card I need.

Pickles done!

Beautiful Day

2021 Releases, pattern paper, With Sympathy

We have a gorgeous day here in Wisconsin. I feel like we’ve had a very cool summer which is probably ok since we didn’t get the pool open this year.

Last night after supper I decided to make some sympathy cards since I was down to none. Our son is a minister and he asked for some sympathy cards the other day and I only had two! He likes them simple with nothing inside so I went to work last night.

I started with this card…I had seen the layout and I wanted to try it.

The pictures don’t really do it justice but it is simple and clean. I used an old cutting fern die – I think from Making Memories. The stamp was C331 Hearfelt Sympathy Sm

Made a couple of other quick ones…This one uses the larger D368 Heartfelt Sympathy Med

Enjoy your day! I have this boatload of cucumbers to get pickled!

Hello!

Birthday, Cutting Dies w/ matching stamp, Frogs & Bugs

Good Afternoon! I hope all are well. I’m getting better – I think! It’s been a tough road but we are moving on. We have a friend who turned 89 a few days ago – yep my card is late. Always running behind but I had some fun making him a card. I sometimes forget how much I like to stamp when I haven’t done it in a while.

I decided not to color the bees because I didn’t want to ruin it and then have to start over 🙄 I did have to split the Happy Beelated Birthday stamp. Here is the link for that stamp: C329 Happy Beelated Birthday and the bee stamp: CC31 KB’s Bees – this is also used on the inside

I’ve been organizing my cupboards while recouping so I best get back to it and clean up the mess!

Handmade cards for gifts

Baby Cards, Dull Glossy Paper, Thank You Cards, Thinking of You

Handmade cards make wonderful gifts! I had a stash of cards ready and picked a few to give to a neighbor as a thank you gift along with a mum flower. She loved them and now I’m inspired to make more as soon as I have more energy again!

I’ve needed to make some thank you cards lately to thank people for all their help during my surgeries and recoveries. Recovery goes a bit too slow for me – anxious to be feeling better but was fun to make a few cards. Today was really my first day alone – everyone back to work or gone so was able to just enjoy sitting at my desk and coloring!

One of my favorite stamps sets the CMO104 Trio Aloe Vera and of course it’s matching Cutting Die CDCMO104 Trio Aloe Vera Cutting Die; I also love the size of this thank you- C332 Thank You fits in a 1.75” circle

Long Time No Post

Card Kits, Coffee, Crazy Z Fold, Triple Circle Card Making Die

It has been a long time since we have sat down and written a blog post. I’m doing really good! No need for radiation or chemo so I feel really fortunate. Monday is my reconstruction surgery- I’m looking forward to having that in my rear view mirror. I have a new card kit. It’s a great coffee card that comes with four different options.

Hello!

Birthday, Card Kits, Dull Glossy Paper

As you’ve noticed with the decrease in blog posts I’ve had some trouble with fatigue! My surgery and recovery are going very well but, boy oh boy, do I get tired easy and fast. I did have some cards in the works and we’ve created some new card kits. This one is a favorite of mine and I love that it comes in boy or girl!

The card kit also comes with both the dull gloss and white circle so you can see the difference in paper. I love dull gloss paper.

I’m hoping to get some five cards kits together but you never know when I will have the energy. I do have two other card kits almost ready to go. One is a sympathy and the other a coffee card so stay tuned!
