Snowman

Good Morning!  The sunshine and 80 degrees did not last long enough!  We are back to 60 degrees but that is still very comfortable so we are not complaining. 🙂

Very busy day ahead of us today…just lots of little time consuming things to take care of.  Hoping the entire list gets taken care of today.  We are fresh from a nice relaxing day yesterday and are ready to go!

We really are not thinking about snow but I do love snowman!  Stamps Used:  G149 Word Frame; FF36 Heart Snowman; C218 Think Snow; BB22 Snowflake Fun Cube.

Hope your Monday is a good one.

It’s about time to start getting those Christmas cards done.  Here is a easy Christmas card!.

Stamps Used:  FF30 & FF31 Flourish stamps, F193 Hanging Christmas Bells, & A88 Merry Christmas.

Just a Note, Uncategorized

just because

Good Evening!  Whew!  it’s hard to go on vacation because it seems like I have come back tired!  We will have some quick posts this week since we head out at 6 am for Denver, CO in the morning.  We are all packed are as ready as can be 🙂

a quick note about this card:  It’s good to remember that we don’t have to make the whole stamp fit in an area.  By 3-d dotting the flower it helps the stamp fit!

Friendship, Hello, Just a Note, Thinking of You

Kathy

I hope you had a one-of-a-kind day!  Mine flew way too fast.

Todays card comes from Kathy in SC!  Love it! I love the lily of the valley stamp in any way, shape, or form.  I never thought to use the one of a kind stamp on the outside of a card but it’s great. I also love getting cards in the mail.  There is something so special about it.  Just the effort and the thought make it special.  It is such a great way to send a “pick me up” to someone.  I think that is one of the great side benefits to this rubber stamping hobby.

Well it’s off to bed so I can get up early.  The floor is coming along nicely, the stamps are getting made but my house is a MESS!  Need to do something about that…I can only take chaos so long 🙂

More Painting!

Just a quick cute smile card this morning!  How fun would it be to get this card in the mail?!  It would certainly make me smile 🙂

We have had a big week and it continues today.  More painting and then the carpet will be ripped out.  Will be so glad to get rid of that carpet.  Ordered a new rug this morning so hopefully within another week we will be all put back together.  We plan to freeze more corn this afternoon too.

We froze corn yesterday after a half day in the shop and an afternoon of painting.  I went and picked up my niece and, boy, was she a big help!

corn 1

I love this recipe for freezing corn.  We begin by washing all the corn!

corn 2

then while the corn is still cold, we cut it off the cob.  Hallie (my niece) was telling me about these cool corn cob cutters and so we went to town and got two of them and they work really good!  Fast!  You can see some taupe paint on Kevin’s thumb!  a sneak peak of our room colors!

corn 3

Then we put:  8 cups of corn, 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup butter (one stick), 1 tsp. salt, and 1 T. of sugar.  Oh yes!  sugar makes everything better! 🙂  After it begins to boil.  Time it for 5 minutes.

corn 4

Let it cool and then bag it!  We did 4 dozen ears of corn in two hours from start to complete clean up.  It is a sticky and messy job! We now have 24 cups of frozen corn in the freezer and we ate 4 cups with supper!

I think we might be taking it a little easy this weekend.  Going to see our son on Saturday and then spending a nice quiet Sunday so that we can begin on the floors on Monday.  Have a great weekend!

More Work

Thank You Cards

It is a so-so day here in WI today.  We have clouds and over cast (which we have suffered with all week!) and rain predicted for this afternoon.  I have a couple of adirondack rocking chairs from Karissa that I want to paint and the weather has not been co-operating.  My sister and I plan to freeze some corn this evening so looking forward to that.  I love having fresh tasting corn all winter!

My card today is once again following the same sketch.  I like to find a sketch I like and use it several times.

We continue to make progress on our re-model.  Kevin has all the holes patched and the ceiling painted so today we start on the walls.  It’s looking so fresh!  Hope your week is going well!

Triple Banner

Birthday

triple banner

Good Morning!  This morning I have used the triple banner flag stamp without using a triple flag card!  I can see other possibilities too. You may notice that the sketch of this card is the same as Monday.

Construction has begun and the house is a mess!  We made good progress yesterday.  The wall is completely down between the living room and dining room.  Kevin had to move some electric outlets out of the wall which made it more time consuming.  I got all the shows balanced and the paper work done.  I even painted my piano yesterday!  It came out awesome.  Today I need to wax it and Kevin has some holes to fix in the walls from the electric project. Then the carpet will all get ripped out and the ceiling painted today.  So lots to do to keep us out of trouble!

More Wonder

Christmas Cards

Good day to you all!  Here is WI it has been raining and likely will rain all week!  That’s ok with all the projects we have going.  Here is a Christmas card using the Triple Flag paper and our new warmth and wonder of the season stamp.

treasures2

here are a few of my treasures from the weekend.  Some really cool house letters, a wooden ruler (that I have no idea what I’m going to do with but it’s cool!) and some glass knobs.

treasure1

this little treasure I’m going to paint and use for a sewing cabinet.  I think 🙂

Well I’m off to work so that I can do a little painting this afternoon….thinking of painting my piano since it is really ugly!

Good Morning!  Here is a simple triple flag banner card.  We are hoping to get these cards on the website on Wednesday so I have a few more samples this week.  This stamp doesn’t cut well on the brother so I have to use the trick with acetate and then it cuts beautifully!  Went back and made a mat for it too!

A little bittersweet day for me yesterday.  We have a young girl coming to stay with us while she does an internship here in Green Bay so I needed to clean out my son’s room.  I’ve been avoiding that room because it makes his leaving home so final (even though I know it’s final…it just seems like closing the book on a chapter of our lives!)  So I texted him to see if he wanted anything from his room and his reply was “do what seems best, I have enough of everything!”  so it all went.  Well, I did keep his lifeguard shirt ( I don’t know why!), a few pair of jeans ( I want to make a quilt with some of the fabric), and all his ties went in his Dad’s closet!  So the book is closed!. We even took it all to Goodwill so I can’t go back and take things out.

Well, I still have some orders to get out so I’d better get to work!  Our rule when we are off the road for awhile is we work until noon in the shop and then play catch up on all the things around the house that need catching up from us being gone so much.  So much to do in a little bit of time.

Home Sweet Home

Frogs & Bugs

frog

so happy to be home and off the road for a little while!  🙂  We are very far behind on things though so it will take us a little while to get caught up.  Especially the paperwork ! UGH!

Had a little chance to play in the studio yesterday after we got home and got all the suitcases unpacked.  I have been wanting to take the svg. files and convert them on the brother website and then cut them out.  Here is an eyeglass svg. file that I got for free!  so adorable.  Should have made it just a bit smaller but I was still happy with it.  The card is actually a scallop heart card that I also did on the brother website.  Working on the big computer screen is easier than the little screen on the machine and then I just download it to the usb port and take it to the machine and there it is!  Love it!  Today I’m going to try and cut some felt that Amy sent me.  Have to get a few orders out this morning first!

Happy Monday!

One More Show Added!

Birthday, Creatures

For those of you who live in the Colorado area…We have added a show in Colorado to our list!  We will be attending the Scrapbook Expo show in Denver in September!

Here is another Triple Flag Banner card from The Paper Cut, Inc.  I’m hoping to get this paper added to our website by this weekend (Hoping to con my new brother-in-law into learning how to do it and then do it :)!)

Look for some new stamps tomorrow that we designed to go into the three flags.  Came out so good!

Loving this fish card.  I did make the mistake of stamping my words to close to the right side so they show on the front.  Live and Learn!  This fish card is another card that has been added to our MNT (make n takes) in the booth.  Have a great hump day!

All Starts Over Again!

Friendship, Hello, Just a Note, smile, Thinking of You

Well, we are back from Minneapolis where we had a  GREAT time and the fun just continues…We leave Thursday for Collinsville, IL so just three days to make stamps.  We are going to be busy little beavers…now if we could get some our nephews to mow grass…that would help 🙂  Here is a great card from Karissa
