just because

Good Evening!  Whew!  it’s hard to go on vacation because it seems like I have come back tired!  We will have some quick posts this week since we head out at 6 am for Denver, CO in the morning.  We are all packed are as ready as can be 🙂

a quick note about this card:  It’s good to remember that we don’t have to make the whole stamp fit in an area.  By 3-d dotting the flower it helps the stamp fit!

Friendship, Frogs & Bugs, Hello, Just a Note

Good Morning!  It’s been a crazy week!  We are trying to get ready for the Colorado show and then to leave for a few days without thinking about work.  We leave this afternoon for our annual church convention and we will not think about working at all.  And it takes a little bit of work to arrange it all!

I have been wanting to try little index cards for some time now and they are so fun, so quick, and so easy!

Enjoy!

Beautiful Morning

Birthday, Creatures

Good Monday Morning!  It’s a beautiful day here in WI.  Sunny and somewhere in the mid 60’s.  We had a great weekend with lots of young kids here for the weekend.  Projects are on hold for a little…we are going to our annual church convention this weekend and next week we leave for Colorado so the building stops for a while.

This morning brings a birthday card with our father owl.  Stamps Used:  DD58 Owl w/ Tie; G265 Happy Birthday Mega Circle; G328 Esp. for You Border; JJ17 & HH31 Chevron borders; E270   Happy and Wonderful Birthday Wishes.

Well, orders to get out, stamps to be made…seems like a repeat of Friday!

Oldie but Goodie

Hello

oldie

Today we have an oldie but goodie card!  I found this while cleaning out the cupboards in the kitchen!  Found a stack of cards…not sure what they were doing in the kitchen cupboards ??!  I needed to clean the cupboards out since I’m losing a big pantry in the kitchen plus the cabinet above the fridge so there was a need to get rid of stuff!  The new pantry/mudroom is coming along nicely…walls are all painted.  We had to bring some electricity into the room since there wasn’t any and that is progressing nicely.

Now Kevin and I are going on a date!  We are headed to the demolition derby…haven’t done something like that in…well, probably before we were married! 🙂  Have a great weekend!

Halloween

So I’ve had some difficulty this week with my computer that is at the house; hence the lack of blog yesterday!  My hard drive is full but Karissa is coming this weekend and she will get me all fixed up!  Nice to have kids that can fix our computer issues 🙂

Today we have a halloween card…back to school always makes me think of halloween since it’s basically the first holiday once school starts.  I used to hand sew halloween costumes for my kids every halloween.  I think I still have a box of them in the basement.  THAT needs to be tossed out or sent to goodwill 🙂

Our projects in the house continue…the crown molding is going up in the living room and looks fantastic.  We’ve started on the mudroom/pantry but I’m having trouble deciding on what colors to paint so we’ve had a little hold up there.  I painted the ceiling a nice sunny yellow but I’m thinking we may have to repaint.  I think it is the cause of my difficulty 😦

Off to work!

Stamps Used:  DD60 Dots& Circles; F225 dropping by Halloween Hi; DD65 Halloween Fun Cube; H119 KB’s Witches Feet

I love this sketch and steno card because I use 12×12 paper to make my cards and so I can cut at 4.25″  then cut at 11″  Score at 5.5″ and then the leftover 1.00×4.25″ goes across the top of card!

Christmas Cards

Good Tuesday to You!  Here is my sketch inspiration for today.  Feeling quite rested from the long weekend and ready to tackle the new week.  I had one day (Sunday) of my house being in order and we are back to chaos!  We completely emptied the mudroom yesterday and today we will begin the build out in there.  But first there are orders to send out and stamps to be made!

It’s Friday!

Friday is here!  It’s a long weekend too.  I thought we were having company this weekend but it’s next weekend!  Good thing Karissa got me all straightened out.  So the food will all go in the freezer and we will take it out next weekend.  It is probably a good thing since we can continue with our project.  We have about two inches left on one side of the room with the floor project.  We were too tired last night to think and measure the last bit so left if for this morning.  Next we start with the Mudroom which is being changed into a more functional pantry/mudroom combination.  After hundreds of hours on Pinterest and Houzz, I’ve got the design done, the measurements and lumber requirements all figured out so  now we just need to get all the stuff and start building.  It’s that simple! Right! 🙂

Todays card is a quick and easy Christmas Card.  Simple but fun colors.  Enjoy your weekend – it’s looks like ours is going to be a rainy one.  Good thing we have an inside project!

Get Well Soon

It’s Thursday so we are almost to Friday!  Whoopie!  We have company coming this long weekend so we are very excited but we NEED to get the house back in order.  The chaos is about sending me over the edge.  We should finish the floor today and get everything back in the living room and that leaves Friday to get the house clean and the grass mowed.

The card today comes from this sketch I found on Pinterest…

sketchI love sketches because they are such a great starting point.  I saw the three little flags and thought of our triple banner flag stamp.  I had a little trouble because the pink with red polka dots paper had trouble in the ScannCut.  Sometimes if the patterned paper is too patterned the scan doesn’t really know what to look for.  So I tricked it a little.  Here is what I did.

I stamped the F235 on Acetate with Staz-On ink.  I then scanned the acetate into the machine.

Next I stamped the F235 Triple Banner Stamp unto the patterned paper and slid it in under the acetate and matched the lines up.

I then made sure the paper was sticking and took the acetate off and cut the paper just like I wanted.  Where there’s a will there is a way!  Except for that felt I’ve been working on.  I was asked to see if the machine would cut felt and the box says that it does but I’ve been having trouble with it.  I will keep working on it!

so it cuts beautifully!  Have a great Thursday!
